PRAYING FOR THE NATIONS — PEACE, JUSTICE AND GLOBAL AWAKENING

Friday, 30 October 2026

Key Scripture: 1 Timothy 2:1–4

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” — 1 Timothy 2:1 (NIV)

Week 5 — Nations and Global Focus

1. Today’s Burden: Let the Nations Know Your Peace

Today, the Christian Social Intervention Program (CSIP) lifts its eyes beyond national borders to intercede for the entire world. We pray for nations experiencing war, political instability, humanitarian emergencies, economic uncertainty, persecution, and natural disasters.

The world is deeply interconnected. Conflict in one region can displace families across borders; economic instability can deepen poverty in distant communities; environmental disasters can destroy livelihoods; and decisions made by international institutions can affect millions of lives.

We therefore pray for wisdom among world leaders, integrity within international institutions, protection for humanitarian workers, and compassion for people caught in the middle of crises. We remember refugees, displaced families, vulnerable children, persecuted Christians, missionaries, and communities with limited access to food, healthcare, and education.

We also pray for the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, regional organisations, and humanitarian agencies to fulfil their responsibilities with fairness, transparency, and a genuine commitment to human dignity.

Our burden today: That the nations will pursue peace instead of war, justice instead of oppression, cooperation instead of hostility, and compassion instead of indifference. May the Gospel reach every nation, and may the love of Christ bring hope to a suffering world.

2. Thanksgiving — Thank You for Your Faithfulness to the Nations

Scriptures: Psalm 46:1; Psalm 117:1–2

Heavenly Father, we thank You because You are God over all nations, peoples, languages, and generations. Thank You for sustaining the world through seasons of uncertainty and for preserving communities through difficult circumstances.

We are grateful for every peace agreement, every life rescued, every humanitarian intervention, every medical breakthrough, every missionary who carries the Gospel, and every individual who serves humanity without seeking recognition.

Thank You for nations that have opened their doors to refugees, organisations that provide relief to suffering communities, and leaders who work sincerely for peace and justice.

We thank You for the Church across the world, for believers who remain faithful under pressure, and for those who continue to demonstrate Christ’s love in places of hardship and persecution.

May our gratitude lead us to become more compassionate, more generous, and more committed to praying for the world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

3. Consecration — Make Us Instruments of Your Peace

Scriptures: Romans 12:1–2; Matthew 5:9

Father, we come before You with humble hearts. Forgive us for the times we have been indifferent to the suffering of others, when we have prioritised our comfort over compassion, or allowed prejudice, hatred, and selfish ambition to influence our actions.

Purify our hearts from greed, intolerance, racism, tribalism, religious hostility, and every attitude that fuels conflict. Teach us to value human life, respect the dignity of every person, and pursue peace even when disagreements arise.

Raise us above political, racial, cultural, and denominational divisions. Help us become people who promote reconciliation, defend the vulnerable, and speak truth with courage and love.

Consecrate missionaries, humanitarian workers, intercessors, church leaders, and everyone serving in difficult environments. Give them clean hands, pure hearts, sound judgment, and unwavering faith.

Make us instruments of Your peace in our homes, communities, workplaces, churches, and nations.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

4. Six Targeted Prayer Points

1. Peace in Conflict Zones and Among the Nations

Scriptures: Psalm 46:9; Matthew 5:9

  • Pray for an end to armed conflicts in Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ukraine, Gaza, Yemen, and other troubled regions.
  • Remember civilians, especially children, women, older people, and families trapped in conflict.
  • Ask God to guide world leaders, mediators, and peace negotiators towards genuine and lasting solutions.
  • Pray for the protection of hospitals, schools, places of worship, and humanitarian facilities.

Current burden: Reports this week describe worsening hunger and displacement in Sudan, renewed pressure on hospitals in Yemen, and continuing civilian suffering in Gaza. Reuters+2

2. Wisdom and Integrity for Global Institutions

Scriptures: Proverbs 2:6; James 3:17

  • Pray for the United Nations, WHO, World Bank, African Union, and other international bodies to act with fairness, wisdom, and integrity.
  • Ask God to raise principled leaders who will prioritise human dignity over political and economic interests.
  • Pray for international cooperation in addressing poverty, disease, conflict, migration, and humanitarian emergencies.
  • Ask for fair representation of developing countries and stronger accountability in global decision-making.

3. Refugees, Displaced Families and Humanitarian Relief

Scriptures: Psalm 82:3–4; Hebrews 13:2

  • Pray for millions displaced by war, insecurity, persecution, and natural disasters.
  • Remember families fleeing violence in Sudan, the Sahel, and Ethiopia, as well as those seeking safety in neighbouring countries.

4. Protection of Christians, Missionaries and Humanitarian Workers

Scriptures: 2 Thessalonians 3:1–2; Psalm 91:1–2

  • Pray for Christians facing persecution, discrimination, intimidation, and violence because of their faith.
  • Ask God to protect missionaries, pastors, evangelists, and church communities serving in hostile environments.
  • Remember humanitarian workers and medical teams operating in conflict zones and disaster-affected communities.
  • Pray for freedom of worship, religious tolerance, and the courage to proclaim the Gospel with wisdom and love.

5. Climate Resilience, Food Security and Global Health

Scriptures: Genesis 2:15; Psalm 24:1

  • Pray for communities facing drought, floods, extreme weather, food shortages, and environmental destruction.
  • Ask God to grant governments and scientists wisdom to prepare for climate-related emergencies and protect vulnerable populations.
  • Pray for farmers, fishermen, and communities whose livelihoods are threatened by changing weather patterns.
  • Ask for equitable climate financing, stronger early-warning systems, and accessible healthcare for vulnerable nations.

Current burden: The World Meteorological Organization has warned that the developing El Niño could intensify towards the end of 2026, increasing the need for early humanitarian preparation. World Meteorological Organization+1

6. Global Revival, Missionary Work and the Gospel to All Nations

Scriptures: Habakkuk 3:2; Matthew 28:19–20

  • Pray for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.
  • Ask God to strengthen the global Church and raise a generation committed to truth, holiness, compassion, and evangelism.
  • Pray for missionaries, Bible translators, Christian educators, and organisations reaching unreached communities.
  • Ask that the Church will be a voice for justice, a refuge for the suffering, and a witness of Christ’s love in every nation.

5. Holy Ghost Time — Let Your Spirit Move Across the Nations

Scripture: Romans 8:26–27

Let us take time to pray fervently in the Holy Spirit. Remember that our intercession is not limited by borders, languages, distance, or circumstances.

Pray particularly for:

  1. The nations at war: Let weapons of destruction be silenced and genuine peace take root.
  2. The displaced and suffering: Let food, shelter, healthcare, protection, and hope reach those in desperate circumstances.
  3. Global leaders: Let wisdom, humility, integrity, and justice guide their decisions.
  4. The persecuted Church: Let believers remain strong in faith and experience divine protection.
  5. The vulnerable earth: Let communities be protected from devastating climate events, hunger, and preventable disasters.
  6. The global Church: Let revival, unity, boldness, and compassion spread across the nations.

Personal reflection: Am I praying only about the things that affect me directly, or am I making room in my heart for the needs of people across the world?

6. Declarations of Faith — The Nations Belong to God!

We declare in the mighty name of Jesus Christ:

  • The nations of the earth belong to God, and His purposes will prevail.
  • Peace will rise where violence has prevailed, and reconciliation will overcome hatred.
  • The suffering, displaced, hungry, and vulnerable will not be forgotten.
  • World leaders will be challenged to pursue justice, wisdom, accountability, and the common good.
  • Humanitarian workers, missionaries, and those serving in dangerous places will receive strength and protection.
  • The Church will remain a beacon of hope, truth, compassion, and spiritual awakening.
  • The earth and its resources will be managed responsibly, and vulnerable communities will receive protection.
  • The Gospel of Jesus Christ will reach every people, tribe, language, and nation.
  • CSIP will continue to pray, serve, and transform lives through faith and compassionate action.

LET THE NATIONS FIND PEACE! LET THE SUFFERING FIND HOPE! LET THE GOSPEL REACH THE WORLD!

7. Glorification — To God Be the Glory Among the Nations

Almighty Father, we give You all the glory, honour, and praise. You are the Creator of heaven and earth, the God of all nations, and the source of true peace and everlasting hope.

Thank You for hearing our prayers for the world. We commit every nation, every government, every international institution, and every community experiencing hardship into Your hands.

Remember those who have lost their homes, loved ones, livelihoods, and sense of security. Comfort the grieving, strengthen the weary, protect the innocent, and provide for those who have nothing.

Guide world leaders towards decisions that preserve human life and promote justice. Strengthen humanitarian organisations, protect missionaries, and empower the global Church to fulfil its calling.

May the nations experience peace, the vulnerable receive justice, the hungry find provision, and the lost encounter the saving love of Jesus Christ.

Let Your kingdom advance across the earth. May every nation, tribe, and language come to know Your goodness and glory.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray.

AMEN!
